This autumn, internationally respected educator Steven Goldstein returns to the UK. He will be teaching a series of in-person fascial therapy and manual therapy CPD trainings with Bowen College UK. So, if you’re a Bowen therapist, manual therapist, or bodyworker looking to deepen your practice with tools that go beyond surface technique – you won’t want to miss his visit.
These trainings are hands-on, fascia-led, and grounded in the latest understanding of the nervous system. Whether you’re exploring the Polyvagal Theory in practice, want to improve your work with the psoas and diaphragm, or are ready to learn new techniques for treating fascial lines and thoracic restriction, this is a unique opportunity to learn from someone who has shaped modern fascial therapy.
What Steven Will Be Teaching – and Why It Matters

Foundations in Fascial Therapy
📍 London · 25–28 September 2025 · NLSSM The School of Sports Massage
📍 Devon · 16–19 October 2025 · Bowen College UK, Dartington
Steven’s original four-day course, refined over three decades. This is the foundation of his Fascial Therapy (FT) method. You’ll learn to assess and treat the body’s cardinal fascial lines – anterior, posterior, and lateral. And the seven diaphragms, using both direct myofascial techniques and indirect, nervous-system-informed approaches.
You’ll leave with new insight into how the body stores and releases tension. As well as learning practical ways to work gently, precisely, and effectively – without force.
Ideal for therapists looking to evolve beyond “no pain, no gain” models and build long-lasting change through subtle, informed touch.
Core Connections – Polyvagal Theory in Practice
📍 Oxford · 4–5 October · Witney Lakes Resort
📍 North East · 1–2 November · Merry Oaks, Durham
This 2-day course dives deep into Polyvagal Theory for manual therapists. It will help you to understand the vagus nerve and its impact on regulation, safety, and healing.

You’ll explore practical applications like FT Two Point, Hyoid release, vocal toning, and breathwork strategies. As well as how to ethically navigate co-regulation and somato-emotional responses in client sessions.
Perfect for trauma-informed therapists and practitioners wanting to integrate nervous system awareness into their hands-on work.

Deep Front Line – Psoas, Diaphragm & Visceral Integration
📍 Midlands · 11–12 Oct · Upton Magna Hall, Shrewsbury
Explore the Deep Front Line (DFL) through the lens of fascia, breath, and organ relationships. You’ll learn how the psoas, diaphragm, mesentery, and colon interact. And how you can release tension safely using touch, breathwork, and fascial techniques.
A rich, hands-on course with a strong focus on the visceral-fascial relationship.
For experienced therapists ready to expand into deep core work and functional integration.
Spine, Scapula & Thorax – Fascial Dynamics for Upper Body Integration
📍 North West · 25–26 Oct · Gregson Centre, Lancaster
Addressing postural issues, breathing restrictions, and upper limb function, this course gives you tools to work directly with the thoracic spine, scapula, and rib cage.

You’ll learn to assess and treat these structures using fascial glide, tensegrity-based techniques, and indirect soft tissue strategies.
Designed for therapists wanting to improve freedom and function in the upper body while respecting the nervous system’s pace.
About Steven Goldstein: Teacher, Innovator, Clinician
Steven Goldstein began teaching in Seattle in the early 1990s. He worked alongside respected figures like Andrew Biel (Trail Guide to the Body) and Diana Thompson (Hands Heal). At a time when much of manual therapy relied on high-pressure, pain-driven techniques, Steven started asking different questions.
Why were we forcing tissue that resisted? What if change could come from listening, not pushing?
That curiosity led him to explore osteopathic methods, eventually developing his own integrative approach: Integrative Fascial Release (IFR). His work blended direct myofascial release, osteopathic-inspired ease-bind techniques, and a growing awareness of the autonomic nervous system’s role in healing.
By 1995, he launched the first Foundations course—bringing these ideas together. Over time, his work evolved into the internationally respected Fascial Therapy (FT) framework, now taught across the US, UK, Europe, South Africa, India, and the Middle East.
Steven’s teaching is practical, trauma-aware, and informed by decades of hands-on experience. His approach is built around three principles:
- Anatomical precision
- Nervous system safety
- Clinical usefulness
Today, Steven directs the Fascial Therapy Institute Australia from his home base in Melbourne. He continues to evolve his methods and train therapists around the world.
