In September, Bowen College UK launched a new course teaching Bowen in Slovenia.
Read on as Bowen College UK Founder Jihan Adem shares more about this fulfilling experience that surpassed her expectations – and we are just beginning this journey!
As Bowen Therapy practitioners, we recognise the transformative power of this gentle yet effective therapy. There’s something special about sharing it with a group of motivated learners who are eager to incorporate it into their own practice. In Slovenia, the energy of the students and the support of Ana Krajnc truly enhanced the experience.
From the start, the students were genuinely motivated to learn Bowen Therapy. The enthusiasm in the room, though quiet, was evident. This group already understood the value of Bowen Therapy, either from personal experience or their professional backgrounds. This meant they were really keen to explore its principles and techniques further. All participants were qualified Physiotherapists, nurses, doctors, or occupational health therapists. Which led to it feeling like each session brought new insights and understanding.
What stood out most was the students’ dedication to grasping the therapy’s deeper aspects. They weren’t just focused on learning the movements; they wanted to understand how Bowen Therapy works holistically – addressing the body’s subtle imbalances and fostering healing. Their questions were thoughtful, discussions engaging, and their enthusiasm for hands-on practice was encouraging. It was a privilege to teach a group so open to learning and applying Bowen Therapy with respect for the body’s natural rhythms.

The students’ enthusiasm was contagious, and I couldn’t have asked for a better collaborator than Ana Krajnc. Ana, a skilled and experienced therapist, played a crucial role in the course’s success. Her support was invaluable, both in terms of logistical organisation and her deep understanding of Bowen Therapy. She also communicated effortlessly across language barriers, making the experience even more seamless for everyone involved.
The Growing Popularity of Bowen Therapy
One of the notable aspects of teaching Bowen Therapy in Slovenia was seeing the increasing interest in the course. Bowen Therapy has been a part of the wellness community for some time. Having said that, recently there’s been a noticeable shift towards a broader understanding of its benefits. As more people seek holistic treatments that support the body’s natural healing ability, Bowen Therapy is gaining recognition as an effective method for pain relief and overall well-being.
Slovenia is embracing more holistic health practices, and Bowen Therapy fits well into this cultural trend. It’s a therapy that offers both immediate relief and promotes long-term wellness. This resonates with those who are already familiar with its benefits. The growing popularity of the course reflects the increasing recognition of Bowen Therapy’s effectiveness in supporting health, balance, and healing.
A Shared Commitment to Healing
When I reflect on my time teaching Bowen Therapy in Slovenia, I feel a deep sense of gratitude and pride. The students. The support from Ana. The growing popularity of the course. These all combined to make this experience incredibly special. It’s always a privilege to share Bowen Therapy with others. Especially when the students are so enthusiastic and have genuine interest to learn. Then, it becomes an even more profound experience.
Bowen College UK is about much more than just techniques; it’s about connection, trust, and facilitating the body’s ability to heal itself. All of this whilst continually raising the standard of Bowen Therapy Education! The students in Slovenia truly embodied this spirit, and their enthusiasm is sure to spread far and wide as they incorporate Bowen Therapy into their own work places.
With the support of Ana and the growing interest in Bowen Therapy, I am excited for the future of this modality in Slovenia. It’s clear that this beautiful therapy has found a new home there. Ultimately, I look forward to seeing how it continues to transform lives, one gentle movement at a time. And what’s more, we are already open to taking students on for October 2025!
